The Unexpected Test

Stumbling out of the dorm I hastily threw my notebooks into my bag. grr.. I was late, I will have to run across the bridge and skip breakfast to get to class on time.
I hastened my pace, and ignored the people who gave me weird looks crossing the bridge to class, How could I be so late? my roommate hadn't reset it when she left, I shouldn't hve been nice enough to let her use it to get up for work this morning, it was her own fault hers got broke, she threw it into the cement block wall when it rang last week, she needs to control the actions of her sleep.
across the bridge I slip behind the library and quickly enter the back of the Marcel Building, slip into the freight elevator, slamming the gate down behind me. press the button and await it to creek up to the third floor.
jerking the gate up, I slip below it and skid down the hall. I pause outside the door to peer in the window, Good! everyone is just handing in their homework still. I grasp the knob and nonchalantly drop my homework on the desk and assume my seat.
"now since everyone is here" Mr Ramierez glares at me letting me know he didn't miss my entrance. "we will have our test, Take out your pens and no more talking or you fail the test."
I reach to my pockets finding them empty I search my bag which reveals no pens. I look up at Mr Ramierez who hands me the test with a smirk on his face. "unprepared?" he hands me a pen, "minus 1 point on the test, take your time you need every point you can get," he grins broadly at me. I sink into my set, and begin to decipher the encrypted text in front of me.
