Writing Resources from Fifteen Minutes of Fiction

The following is a piece of writing submitted by Douglas on April 18, 2010
"This poem came out of thinking about the story of the rich young ruler in Mark 10, and Paul's words to the Roman church about the law of love, in Romans 13."

Just Like

Just like a cart without a bridled horse,
Or like a violin without a bow,
As empty as a shell without a yolk,
As dismal as a winter without snow,
As empty as a dried up river bed,
As cold as hands without a warming glove,
So is a law-abiding citizen
Who still is lacking sacrificial love.
