Tides of March

This post was written in 3 minutes.
I didn't think of an animal but I did think of Julius Caesar, who had a friend named Brutus, which is kind of a cool name for a dog, I guess....Hope you like.

The Tides of March

"Beware the Ides of March" they say,
For in the Theatre of Pompey
Loosed Caesar his last winsome speech
"Alas," said he, "Et tu Brute."

Beware the Tides of March, say I,
For tidal waves from darkened sky,
The seam of heaven seem to breach,
Descend, and leave us nothing dry.

Though came and saw and conquered he,
The ghost of Caesar conquered be,
For Tides of March doth truly teach
What means "Veni, Vidi, Vici."

This is really good! I like your rhyme scheme too - it's just complex enough to require more than one reading to figure out, but not confusing. I think this would work really well as a read-aloud piece.

In my third year of Latin, haha and it helped with this poem. I loved the rhyme scheme and your idea. Awesome job.
