I hate it when the winter wind blows loud,
As nature draws her final gasping breath
And lies down in the cold embrace of death,
Beneath a freshly-fallen, pallid shroud.

Nicely descriptive. Great use of alliteration and consonance. This particular rhyme scheme was a favorite of Robert Frost - he wrote quite a few using it.
