"Why is it the older we get the smarter our parents get"

Mother is Always Right

When I was young, I never appreciated my mother. She was not glamorous like some of my friend's moms; no, she was practical and glamor was just a waste of recourses. My mother was not strict but she would never let me do foolish things like stay out late on a school night. What we had was a family and a family life and of course this was something I didn't want I wanted adventure and the carefree life.

After leaving home, the carefree life is what I achieved but my mother never criticized me for my choice although I knew she didn't approve. When I finally settled down, got married and had children it took me several years to realize I had married a girl who had my mother's beliefs.

Now that my mother is gone, I realize I can't go to her and tell her she was always right, that she knew how life should be lived. I told her I loved her many times but never that she was right. Please don't wait too long to tell your mother she knew what she was doing, it will make her feel good but it will make you feel better.
