More Historical Confusion

"Mr. Obama, are you ready for your meeting?" chimed the voice of the secretary. Mr. Barack Obama, newly elected President of the United States, the first black man to preside of the Union, was about to sit down with one of his heroes from a century past due to the manipulation of modern technology: a time machine.

"Why, certainly I am." He responded with that smooth voice, the same one that had won him the 2008 election. The secretary smiled and turned with a whisk of her skirt leading him into what was a replicated den, with a burning fireplace. She ushered him down to sit in the rocking chair as another figure entered the room.

"Welcome Mr. Lincoln, if you could please sit, we could begin the meeting," smiled the secretary who then whisked off again to continue her other duties.

The tall lanky man was the very image of every picture that decorated America as one of it's national Icons. From his top down to his suit and beard, he was now the living legend of one of the most beloved presidents.

"I see much has changed in the time I've been gone," he spoke with that deep voice as he looked upon President Obama. "By george, I do not believe I would have imagined that over one hundred and thirty years from my presidency, would the tolerance, our people could develop for a united country come this far. Who would have known! It is surely an honor to meet you, Mr. President" He grinned reaching over to shake the strong hand of Obama.

"And it is an honor to meet you Mr. Lincoln. You do not know, how deeply indebted I am to you." He spoke with the honest sincerety of his own voice. "That it is because of you, not only the children of those who suffered for the rights they now have, but the people of the united states are united with them. The boundaries of prejudice and biggotry are collapsing. The borders of racial and ethnic differences are fading as we share one common thing. Proud Americans" He smiled for a moment as he looked at Mr. Lincoln

"In my day, brother was shedding the blood of hs own brother. Not only were there these," He paused for a moment to emphasise. "Etnic borders, but the borders of intolerance of ideals. Just looking upon you, I know that the rivers run blue. Freedom and it's ideals are as true and bright as ever. But I cannot take the claim for all this. All ths is because of the men and women who fought for it. who fought to become better. As any man who came to this country, wishing for something better. It is the people of this country who have made this place better, made themselves better."

He smiled quietly as he looked into the eyes of obama as he stated this. " I am merely a man who kept true to what this country stands for. Anyone who has progressed towards freedom and unity, is as true to this country as any. Those, my friend, are our greatest patriots." They both smiled in a companionable silence for a moment as the fire crackled, the two looking upon each other in admiration.
