Have you ever been reading a book and come across a sentence that made you think, "What a clever and creative way of saying something mundane!"

I'm currently reading Neil Gaiman's Neverwhere, and it contains this statement: "Richard had noticed that events were cowards: they didn't occur singly, but instead would run in packs and leap out at him all at once."

Which is a very fresh way of saying "It never rains but it pours."
